Wendi Gibson
Wendi is a Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of Texas with an Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology. She has practical experience in caring for many types of animals including equines, avian, reptiles and ruminants. She also enjoys teaching others about the benefits of wellness care for their pets and loves to share her insight on topics such as nutrition, senior pet care and animal behavior.
Wendi’s main passion lies with horses. She was born and raised in Texas and has over 20 plus years of experience breaking and training horses for pleasure use such as trail riding, driving and distance riding. She has experience shoeing horses and dealing with the common causes of lameness related to horses used extensively for the trail. Having been a distance rider for many years, she has a wealth of knowledge to share when it comes to obstacles, training for the trail, tack fit, metabolics and many other subjects related to developing a sound equine athlete.
Her favorite subject in veterinary medicine is clinical pathology with emphasis on hematology and metabolics related to distance riding. Parasitology is another favorite topic and she loves to help educate others regarding better ways to prevent illness from parasites in small animals, equines and food animals. Always wanting to excel, she enjoys acquiring knowledge through continuing education by attending seminars, labs and her work as an RVT.
Wendi has enjoyed distance riding over the years in competitive trail and endurance. She also enjoys riding her gaited horses and driving. She is a member of the American Endurance Ride Conference, the American Association of Equine Veterinary Technicians and the National Association of Veterinary Technicians in America.
